I was also lead Instructional Designer for the 737 Factory’s Lockout / Tagout eLearning course, which had all factory workers at the Renton site as its audience. My responsibilities included Needs Analysis, curriculum development, graphic design, principal photography, SME partnerships and management, storyboard and script writing, and project evaluation.
I designed the course to increase safety for traveling workers, who would temporarily work on issue areas of an airplane, and often needed to shut down hazardous parts of the plane to do so. The course guides employees through the entire technical process of locking down, working on, and releasing an airplane as a team. I chose to focus heavily on photographic presentation for the bulk of the instruction, based on the feedback I gathered in many SME interviews during the Needs Analysis.
The training earned positive feedback from the many factory teams that used it as part of their monthly required training sessions.
