After completing a company-wide needs analysis for accessibility engineering, I saw a critical need for change management in how accessibility engaged the enterprise engineering community. Stage 1 in my plan was re-establishing and communicating a clear identity for the group, which would center on our role as experts in competing in the marketplace through innovative accessible features that all customers wanted.
Each “Enable the Future” video in the series focused on two people, one with a disability, and one without, using the same future technology to achieve their goals. Examples included a tablet that responded to voice controls to read and magnify a recipe for a blind woman and her daughter, or a video game console that translated one man’s sign language for his hearing friend.
